Abstract

A collection of negatives and photographic prints thereof from the early twentieth century that depict various people and places in and around Eagle and Garfield Counties.

Arrangement Note

This collection is divided across two boxes:

Box 1 contains the negatives and the Kodak negative booklet that they were originally stored in. There are also two loose pages from the booklet that describe what it contained (i.e. the number and subjects of the negatives).

Box 2 contains print copies of the negatives along with notes for each photograph, brief donation information, and all other known facts about the negatives. The contents of this box were previously housed in a binder prepared by Jaci Spuhler and have been maintained as they were found for the sake of provenance.

Provenance Statement

The "DeGraw Negative Album, Early 20th Century" was donated to the Eagle Valley Library District, Local History and Genealogy Department by Claude DeGraw via the Eagle County Historical Society in December 2009.

Note to the Researcher

The number on the sleeve of each photograph corresponds to the sleeve number they were found in and can also be referenced against the loose pages from the booklet. It should be noted that negatives were not present in every sleeve of the Kodak booklet, meaning there are gaps in the numerical order of the negatives yet all are present and accounted for in this collection.
