Historical Note
The United Steelworkers Local 5102 was created by employees of the Eagle Mine in Gilman, Colorado. The mine was owned by the New Jersey Zinc Company and the union meetings were held in Red Cliff, Colorado at the old show hall (now gone).

Abstract
This minute book was used at meetings of United Steelworkers Local 5102 between January 1969 - August 1977. Members of 5102 worked at the Eagle Mine in Gilman, Colorado, but held their meetings in Red Cliff, Colorado at the, now demolished, old show hall.

The "United Steelworkers Local 5102 Papers, 1949-1977" were donated to the Eagle Valley Library District, Local History and Genealogy Department by an unknown donor in 2011.
